Practitioner: Neville Dastur
Neville Dastur qualified from UMDS Guys and St Thomas' Hospital in 1997. His higher surgical training took place in the South of England including large regional units like Brighton and St Thomas' Hospital. He completed his fellowship year at St Thomas' where he gained a thorough understanding of minimally invasive endovascular techniques.
Neville is now a NHS substantive vascular consultant at Frimley Park NHS Hospital. This was the first trust in the Country to be given an outstanding rating by the CQC in 2014. He has a specialist interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques for both arterial and venous therapies.
Neville maintains a keen interest in teaching. He leads on the vascular simulator training and teaches on a number of courses about vascular and general surgery. He is the vascular lead for the diabetic foot service at Royal Surrey, Guildford Hospital and lead on a new stent graft system called Nellix, used in the treatment of infrarenal and more complex aneurysms. He is the principal investigator for the 3D image mapping project and has published in a number of peer-reviewed journals on general surgical and vascular topics as well as presenting at a number of National and International meetings.
